Cherry Creek is fast becoming one of the "hippest" places to dine, shop, recreate and live in the Denver metro area. Home to one of Denver's most remarkable outdoor shopping districts, Cherry Creek North offers residents of the area more than 300 businesses to shop in within walking distance of home. History of Cherry Creek:
The Cherry Creek watershed is one of the most dominant geographical and cultural features of the Denver metropolitan area, connecting communities in Denver, Arapahoe and Douglas counties. For hundreds of years, Native Americans in the area used the Creek, as did trappers, adventurers and traders. Everyone who used the trail was following the Cherokee trail up from the Santa Fe Trail on their way to the confluence of the Cherry Creek and South Platte Rivers to what is now Downtown Denver.
It wasn't until William Green Russell and his brothers made a small discovery of gold on the Cherry Creek in 1858 that the area began to boom. With news of gold in the Creek, General William Larimer pioneered a group of men to travel to the Cherry Creek area from Kansas to establish a settlement. That settlement was named Denver City.
The Cherry Creek area was established shortly after as boundary between the newly formed Denver City and an earlier established community to the east called Auraria. By 1860, the three areas were consolidated into a single community called Denver, but the uniqueness of each original community survived and continues to live on.
The community of Cherry Creek today is one of the most popular places to live in Denver. In addition to its cultured feel and wonderful dining, shopping and recreation opportunities, two annual events attracting people from around the state and country have made the Cherry Creek area home to some favorite summertime traditions and activities in Denver.
Cherry Creek Mall:
In addition to the many fine restaurants, specialty stores, cafes, coffee shops and boutiques in Cherry Creek, one of the states premiere shopping malls is also located in the area. The Cherry Creek Shopping Center is a lavish shopping center located in the heart of Cherry Creek. With roughly 160 shops, restaurants and other services, the mall is a favorite place to shop and a tourist attraction bringing many people from around the world into its doors. The world-class Cherry Creek Mall offers shoppers renowned stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Macy's, Tiffany & Co.and Cartier among others. In addition to all that the Cherry Creek Mall has to offer, the Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District has over four hundred other shopping opportunities. You will find 280 independent merchants, 50 salons and spas, 47 restaurants, 26 home stores, 18 art galleries and 17 jewelry boutiques.
The Taste of Cherry Creek is an opportunity for people to get out into the beautiful and unique Cherry Creek area while enjoying dishes from many restaurants and eateries. The Taste of Cherry Creek features a celebration of "Cuisine Couture" offering attendees a large selection of fine wines, microbrews, desserts and specialty coffees to enjoy as well as many different types of food found throughout many cultures in the world.
During the holiday season, the Cherry Creek Mall is widely known for the large Holiday Tree it constructs in the middle of the mall stretching three stories tall.

Cherry Creek: Homes and Cherry Creek Real Estate:
Cherry Creek offers one of the most diverse architectural neighborhoods anywhere in the entire metropolitan area. Luxurious residences abound throughout the community. The majority of available housing in the Cherry Creek area consists of recently condominiums condominiums and townhouses. Re-development of the area began in the 1970's and is still continuing today. Individual units start at just under $250,000 and continue up to $2.5 million.

The Cherry Creek Arts Festival and the Taste of Cherry Creek are annual events that have won the hearts of many Denverites who return year after year to celebrate the "culture of Cherry Creek." The 350,000 people who attend the event each year are dazzled by more than 200 national, award-winning artists and are entertained by shows on eight different performance stages throughout the weekend.
Gates Tennis Center In Cherry Creek
The Gates Tennis Center at 3300 E. Bayaud Street is one of Denver's finest tennis facilities. It was originally gifted to the city of Denver by Charles C. Gates. A four year renovation project was completed in April of 2008. Every other Saturday between May and September, a free tennis clinic is offered for adults. The facility offers innovative ideas for all levels of play and currently serves over 10,000 players each year.

The Cherry Creek area, not unlike its history, is one of culture, entertainment and enjoyment.
