Aurora, Colorado
In 1891 the city of Aurora was founded by the name of Fletcher, Colorado. However, in 1907 the city name was changed to Aurora. The city motto is "Gateway to the Rockies". There are around 310,000 residents in the 144 square miles of city area. Aurora adjoins with Denver's eastern boundary. The eastern suburb of Aurora became Colorado´s third-largest city during the 1990's, a period of immense growth in many areas of Colorado. Aurora has a diverse economic base of federal government, hi-tech, light manufacturing and research and development job opportunities. The city is also the new site of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center located at the former Fitzsimmons Army Hospital.
