The city of Lakewood is located to the southwest of Denver and it is the third-most populous city in Metro Denver after Denver and Aurora.  Lakewood extents into the Foothills, where its 6,000 acres of parks include Green Mountain and the surrounding William Frederick Hayden Park. The city offers over 80 parks including popular Gear Creek Lake Park. Lakewood touches the City of Morrison on its western side.
