In addition to Broomfield´s park system which offers many miles of walking and jogging trails, playgrounds for children and amazing wildlife viewing, the great Rocky Mountains are only a short 10 minute drive from almost anywhere in Broomfield. Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Forest, a favorite mountain playground of Coloradans and people visiting the state, are a short hour drive from Broomfield, making day-trips easily accessible.
Schools: Broomfield is served by some of the best public education school districts in the metro area. Boulder Valley Schools, Adams 12 Five Star Schools and the Jeffco Public School District all serve the families living in the neighborhoods of Broomfield. Boulder Valley consistently ranks as one of the highest performing districts each year on the state assessments and standardized tests. Adams 12 also scores well and was recognized in 2005 as the district that saw the highest number of students improve their state-assessed standards than any other district in the metro area. Jeffco Schools, the largest school district in the state serving nearly 90,000 students is also a good educational choice for parents living in Broomfield. The oldest homes in Broomfield were built in the mid 1950's. A largest percentage of the single family homes were built between 1975 and 2000.
